5 Rules For A Safe Workout

One of the factors that I consider key during a workout whether it is at the gym, an outdoors activity, or any other sports activity, I consider safety the primary goal for completing a workout.

When we work out we always need to keep in mind only one thing; how to finish our training safely, so that we will be able to repeat our favourite activity again.

Below, I will list some rules for how we can achieve this or at least reduce the chances of getting injured. Remember that there is always the unpredictable factor that can lead to an injury and especially in some sports where we use equipment and it does not only depend on us!

1. Correct and personalized guidance!

I start from this one, since I believe it is the utmost important. The rest of the rules that I will mention have a direct connection with the correct and personalized guidance.

The first thing we have to do when we start our fitness journey is to find the right trainer for us, the one who will organize our training plan and will guide us safely in order to avoid any injuries. At this point, I want to mention that not everyone is fit for everything and by that I mean that our choice of trainer should be made based on his know-how, his specialization, but also his experience!

2. Excessive excitement!

Often times our enthusiasm to achieve a lot during our training, leads us to exaggeration and this might bring some negative outcomes.

3. Overestimation of our potential!

We must be aware at all times of what we can do, the capabilities that our body has, but also to evaluate our mood in every workout!

4. Listen to your body!

In every workout you must listen to your body. It always gives you signs and warns you when something is not going well, but you are not always able to evaluate them properly and this might result to some injuries.

5. You are not a professional athlete!

You do sports for your own good physical and mental health, you do not do it to make a living from it. Therefore, an injury can deprive you of the opportunity to be at your work, and this might have some negative results!

Finally, I would like to point out that sports should be a part of your daily life and you want to repeat it, your first concern should be to do it safely. Listen to your body and mind, train under the supervision of a qualified trainer or coach and enjoy what you do!
